the audio interface driver interface don’t have any settings about the exclusive or shared use but with other daw (Cubase) i can play the tracks AND some external program (Youtube via browser i.e.) at the same time.

Other drivers have this option in the Windows Control Panel somewhere. Some drivers however do have this option either in the options window shown when clicking “Control Panel” in Cantabile’s Options -> Audio Engine page. As far as I’m aware there’s nothing in the ASIO API spec to indicate if the driver should run in exclusive or shared mode. I wanna record, please help ASAP.All Cantabile is doing here is loading, starting, stopped and unloading the ASIO driver as any other application would. Ive downloaded the latest versions of each. The problem is specifically with Focusrite's ASIO with Reaper. When I use another ASIO (ASIO4ALL) the playback works. I emailed Cockos, with all that I had checked about troubleshooting (buffer and sample size, input and output, etc.), and they came back to me after a week to simply dismiss what I said and were not helpful. I didnt change a thing on it, and playback just wasnt happening. Got it 5 months ago to start recording on Reaper with my gear, and it worked (I recorded a Blitzkrieg (Metallica) cover and the Thunderstruck riff (for mixing purposes)), but then about a month ago, it gave up on me. Anyway, if you see it, leave some feedback (or not, I’m not a cop). Also I wouldn’t be able to bear doing War Ensemble over 3 days since Reaper kept crashing on me everytime (while it was not saving every 15min). Update: Thank you all for your valuable advice (except that one dick Dasein), I finally finished making my first ever cover (Ace of Spades) using Reaper: I can do harder songs, but it goes back to my childhood THPS 3 loving days.
